Application & Registration IUS summer school application
How can I apply to the program?
Applications are made through the online form at yazokulu.ius.edu.ba. Direct contact: liseyazokulu@ius.edu.ba or +90 533 308 95 52.
What is the application deadline?
Early application is recommended as places are limited. Availability fills up quickly, especially during April and May.
What documents are required for the application?
A valid passport, personal identification details, and the application form are the basic requirements.
How is payment made?
Payment can be made by bank transfer or online payment methods. A deposit may be required to confirm registration.
Language Education & Levels IUS ELS language level
Can students with no English at all participate?
Yes. The program runs in four groups starting from A1 (absolute beginner) level.
When is the placement test held?
It is held on campus at the start of the program. No preparation is required.
How many hours are the classes per day?
Approximately 5 hours per day — covering writing, reading, listening, and speaking skills.
What does EAQUALS accreditation mean?
EAQUALS is a European organisation that inspects the quality of language schools to international standards. IUS ELS is the first and only language program within a university in the Balkans to hold this accreditation.
Accommodation & Daily Life IUS summer school accommodation
Where do students stay?
In shared rooms in the dormitory on the IUS campus. Safe, clean, and supervised.
Are meals included?
Yes. 3 meals per day are included in the program fee.
Is there internet access on campus?
Yes. Wi-Fi access is available throughout the campus.
Is there a laundry facility?
A laundry service is available on campus.
Visa & Transport IUS summer school visa
Is a visa required for Bosnia and Herzegovina?
Turkish passport holders can enter visa-free. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the program end date.
How can I get to Sarajevo?
Direct flights are available from Istanbul, Ankara, and other major cities. Airport pick-up and transfer are organised by IUS.
Who makes the flight reservation?
Flight reservations are made by families. IUS organises the airport pick-up and transfer.
Certificate, Workshops & Other IUS summer school certificate
Is a participation certificate issued?
Yes. All students are issued an official participation certificate by IUS. It can be used in CVs and university applications.
Are workshops included, or is there an additional fee?
All workshop sessions are included in the program fee. There are no additional charges.
Are the excursions chargeable?
Cultural excursions to Mostar, Travnik, Počitelj, and other destinations are included.
Is health insurance required?
International health insurance is provided to all students as part of the program.
What is the age limit?
The program is designed for high school students aged 15–18.
